Terms of Use

Effective Date: January 15, 2025

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

Welcome to FlashStream. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our website, educational materials, and services. By accessing flashstream.life, you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of our platform immediately.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, enrolling in courses, or simply browsing our content, you're entering into a binding agreement with FlashStream. We're based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and these terms reflect both local regulations and international best practices for online education platforms.

We update these terms occasionally. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms. Check back periodically so you know what you're agreeing to.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibilities

Age Requirements

You need to be at least 16 years old to use FlashStream independently. If you're younger, you can still participate with parental consent and supervision. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children without proper authorization.

Account Security

When you register, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Don't share your password with others. If you suspect unauthorized access, let us know right away by emailing contact@flashstream.life.

You're accountable for all activity under your account. This includes purchases, forum posts, and interactions with other students. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate our community standards or these terms.

3. Educational Services and Content

Course Access

When you enroll in a course, you get access to video lectures, coding exercises, project files, and community forums for that specific program. Access periods vary by course and are clearly stated before purchase. Most courses offer lifetime access, but some intensive bootcamp-style programs may have time-limited availability.

Content Usage Rights

All course materials remain our intellectual property. You can watch videos, download resources for personal study, and complete exercises as part of your learning. But you can't redistribute materials, share login credentials, or upload our content to third-party platforms.

What you can do:

  • Stream course videos for personal learning
  • Download provided resources and project files
  • Share your completed projects and code publicly
  • Discuss course concepts in public forums

What's not allowed:

  • Recording or redistributing course videos
  • Sharing account access with others
  • Uploading our materials to torrent sites or file-sharing platforms
  • Using course content for commercial training without permission

No Guaranteed Outcomes

We're proud of our curriculum and the results many students achieve. That said, learning outcomes depend on individual effort, prior experience, and circumstances beyond our control. We don't promise specific job placements, salary increases, or skill mastery timelines.

Your success depends largely on you. We provide quality instruction and support, but we can't guarantee employment or specific career outcomes. Education is a starting point, not a finish line.

4. Payment Terms

Pricing and Currency

Course prices are listed in TWD (Taiwan Dollars) unless otherwise specified. We occasionally run promotions or discounts that may change pricing temporarily. The price you see at checkout is what you'll pay.

Payment Processing

We use secure third-party payment processors. When you make a purchase, you're also agreeing to their terms of service. We don't store your full credit card information on our servers.

Refund Policy

If you're not satisfied with a course, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you haven't completed more than 25% of the content. After that window, sales are final. Email us at contact@flashstream.life with your order number and reason for requesting a refund.

Access to course materials will be revoked once a refund is processed. This typically takes 5-7 business days to appear in your account.

5. User Conduct and Community Standards

Expected Behavior

FlashStream hosts forums, discussion boards, and collaborative projects. We expect respectful, constructive participation from everyone. This means no harassment, hate speech, spam, or disruptive behavior.

Prohibited Activities

  • Posting offensive, abusive, or discriminatory content
  • Attempting to hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer our platform
  • Uploading malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Impersonating instructors, staff, or other students
  • Soliciting other users for commercial purposes
  • Sharing solutions to graded assignments or assessments

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these standards. Serious violations may result in permanent bans and, where applicable, legal action.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

Our Content

Everything on FlashStream—course videos, written materials, graphics, code examples, quizzes, and UI design—is protected by copyright and trademark law. We or our content creators own these rights.

Your Contributions

When you post in forums, upload projects, or submit assignments, you retain ownership of your work. However, you grant us a license to display, reproduce, and distribute your contributions as part of the learning platform. This helps other students learn from shared examples.

If you'd prefer not to share something publicly, use private submission channels or contact instructors directly.

7. Privacy and Data Collection

We collect personal information to provide educational services, process payments, and improve our platform. This includes names, email addresses, learning progress, and payment information.

For detailed information about how we handle your data, review our Privacy Policy. We comply with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and take reasonable measures to secure your information.

We don't sell your personal information to third parties. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, but only under strict confidentiality agreements.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

Service Availability

We strive to keep FlashStream running smoothly, but we can't promise uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, unexpected technical issues, or external factors may occasionally cause downtime. We'll communicate disruptions when possible, but we're not liable for temporary unavailability.

Educational Content

Our courses reflect current industry practices and technologies as of their creation date. The field of deep learning changes rapidly. While we update content periodically, some materials may become outdated. We're not responsible if specific frameworks, libraries, or techniques evolve after course publication.

Third-Party Links

We sometimes link to external resources, documentation, or tools. We don't control these third-party sites and aren't responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Use external resources at your own discretion.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlashStream and its instructors are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes lost profits, data loss, or missed opportunities.

Our total liability for any claim related to these terms or our services won't exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination of Access

Your Right to Cancel

You can stop using FlashStream anytime. If you want to delete your account entirely, contact us and we'll remove your data according to our retention policies and legal obligations.

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or disrupt the learning environment for others. We'll typically provide notice before termination unless immediate action is necessary for legal or security reasons.

In case of termination for cause, you won't receive a refund for unused course access.

10. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Kaohsiung City, where our principal office is located.

Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, please contact us at contact@flashstream.life to discuss the issue. Most problems can be resolved through direct communication. We're committed to addressing concerns fairly and promptly.

11. Changes to Services

We're constantly improving FlashStream. This means we may add new features, modify existing ones, or discontinue services that aren't working well. We'll notify active users of significant changes, but minor updates may happen without announcement.

If we discontinue a course you've purchased, you'll retain access to existing materials or receive a comparable replacement when possible.

12. General Provisions

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and any course-specific terms, constitute the complete agreement between you and FlashStream. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. We'll replace unenforceable provisions with enforceable terms that reflect our original intent.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision doesn't constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it later. All rights and remedies remain available to us.

Assignment

You can't transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else. We may assign our rights and obligations to another entity, particularly in case of merger, acquisition, or business sale.
